Mumbai: Vidya Balan unveiled the first glance of her upcoming
film 'Begum Jaan' on Tuesday morning. The award-winning national actress, has
taken on Twitter to share a preview of the character she portrays in the film
Srijit Mukherji.
Vidya plays the madam of a brothel in Punjab during the
Indian Partition in 1947. In the poster, she can be seen wearing an intense
expression and holding a hukka in her hand. The legend on the poster send a
clear message and drop ample indications on the history of the film.
'Begum Jaan' is apparently the Hindi adaptation of the
Bengali film of Mukherji 'Rajkahini'.
The film also features Naseeruddin Shah, Ashish Vidyarthi,
Rajesh Sharma, Rajit Kapur and Ila Arun, besides Guahar Khan and Pallavi
Sharda.
Produced jointly by Vishesh Films and Play Entertainment,
Begum Jaan, which marks the debut of Mukherji in Bollywood, is expected to be
released on April 14
